Getting Started
Adding Your First Coffee
- Open Sola Coffea and tap the + button on the Library tab
- Enter the coffee's name, roaster, and origin
- Add optional details: variety, process method, altitude, and tasting notes
- Rate the coffee and optionally attach a photo
- Tap Save
Logging a Brew
- Open a coffee from your library
- Tap Log Brew
- Select your brew method (espresso, pour-over, AeroPress, French press, etc.)
- Enter method-specific parameters: grind size, dose, yield, water temperature, and brew time
- For espresso, you can also log TDS percentage and extraction yield
- Add tasting notes and a rating for this specific brew
- Tap Save
Setting Up iCloud Sync
Sola Coffea uses iCloud to sync your library across devices. Make sure you are signed in to iCloud on all your devices (Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud) and that iCloud Drive is enabled. Sync is automatic once enabled.
Common Questions
How do I use the brew guides?
Go to the Guides tab and select a brew method. Each guide walks you through each step with an integrated timer. Tap Start to begin the guided session with haptic feedback at each phase transition.
What is Coffee DNA?
Coffee DNA is your personalized taste profile, generated from the ratings and tasting notes you have accumulated. It shows your preferences across flavor categories, processing methods, origin regions, and roast levels. It becomes more accurate as your library grows.
How do I share a coffee to the feed?
Open a coffee or brew log and tap Share to Feed. You can write a note and choose whether to share to the main feed or a specific Coffee Circle. Shared content is visible to other Sola Coffea users.
How do I claim my coffee shop?
Find your shop on the Shops tab. Tap the shop and select Claim This Shop. You will be prompted to verify ownership via email. Once verified, you can publish your Bean Board, brew guides, and coffee listings.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad to manage or cancel your Sola Coffea Pro subscription.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account within the app. This permanently removes your public profile and any content you have shared to the community feed or Coffee Circles.
